I remember when I was a kid when I would walk down the street with my dad to the butcher, We would go every Sunday morning so that my mom could make her homemade meatballs and sauce. It is one of my favorite memories of all time and I am so glad that I will always have those memories. I moved away from an area that had a butcher so I now go to online butchers so that I can have the same type of quality meat that my butcher used to order for me. I just turned 30 years old a few days ago, and it has really started to get me to think about my life and my own mortality. I did not think about stuff like that when I was in my 20's or younger, because life seems so long. However, now that I am 30, I have started thinking about the fact that I am overweight, and what impact that could have on my future health. As such, I want to try to find the most effective diet I possibly can in order to help me to lose some weight, and also to maintain a healthy weight in the future, once I have lost the weight that I am looking to loss.
I have tried some diets in the past, but not in quite awhile. I did not take them all that seriously, but I used to have a girlfriend that was a health nut, and she convinced me go on a few diets. I mostly did it because I wanted to keep her happy, and not because I really cared about my health at that point in time. However, at this point in time, I do care a lot about my health, and I want to try to make sure that I will not die young due to cardiovascular disease, and other things like that, if I can avoid it.
I think that it would be beneficial for me to try to learn as much about nutrition in general, as I can, before I start the diet. I want to learn which foods will help me to lose weight, and which foods I should avoid, in order to have a highly effective diet.
